Nevermore

Content Warning: This poem contains violent imagery that some readers may interpret as self‑harm.

This poem explores my grief at the loss of my father and the complicated emotions that can surface around milestones imagined without him—like marriage.

When I struggle, I turn to words—not harm—to search for understanding. This piece reflects grief, worthlessness, and the quiet questions loss leaves behind.

Writing about pain and struggle is not dangerous. Feeling alone with pain is..

 A vision

A small dirt path...

Trail?

A large strong tree,

Standing tall and wonderous.

Branches- Reaching over top.

A small child parent in hand.

Face pale as a ghost.

Speechless...

Devil's necklace around me.

The dress I am never to wear.

White, flowing, laced and beaded.

Something new, old and blue.

I am blue.

Never... NEVER. carved into me.

hanging.

For I will never be good enough.

Post Script:
This poem reflects grief and imagination, not intent. If it stirred something heavy, please be gentle with yourself and take whatever space you need.
